Yahweh – The LORD Who Has Always Existed.

Yahweh – The LORD Who Has Always Existed.

Scripture Reading: Exodus 3:13-15

“Then Moses said to God, ‘Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, “The God of your fathers has sent me to you,” and they say to me, “What is His name?” what shall I say to them?’ And God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’ And He said, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, “I AM has sent me to you.”‘ Moreover, God said to Moses, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: “The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.'”

In our fast-paced and ever-changing world, it is comforting to know that there is one constant, an unchanging presence that transcends time and remains steadfast. This unchangeable and eternal God is Yahweh, the Lord who has always existed. As we meditate on this truth, let us reflect on three key aspects of His eternal nature.

  1. The God of the Past:

When Moses stood before the burning bush, he questioned God about His name. In response, God revealed His name as “I AM WHO I AM” or Yahweh. This name not only signifies God’s eternal existence but also His connection to the past. Yahweh identifies Himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of their forefathers. He is the same God who walked with them, guided them, and made promises to them. The eternal God is intimately acquainted with the past and our personal histories. He remains faithful to His covenant throughout generations.

  1. The God of the Present:

As Moses was commissioned to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, God assured him that He would be with him. The same God who spoke from the burning bush continues to be present with His people today. Yahweh is not a distant deity, but a living and active God who walks alongside us in our daily lives. His presence brings comfort, guidance, and strength. In every circumstance, we can rely on the eternal God who is with us in the present moment, never leaving us nor forsaking us.

  1. The God of the Future:

When God revealed His name as Yahweh, He declared it to be His name forever, throughout all generations. He is the God of the future, holding the entire span of time within His sovereign hands. The plans and purposes of Yahweh extend far beyond our limited understanding. We can trust in His eternal wisdom and find hope in the assurance that He is working all things together for our good and His glory. In times of uncertainty, we can rest in the knowledge that the eternal God holds our future securely.

Never has then been a time when God did not exist and never will there be a time when God will cease to exist.

As we go about our day, let us hold onto the truth that Yahweh, the Lord, has always existed. Never has then been a time when God did not exist and never will there be a time when God will cease to exist. In times of uncertainty and doubt, let us remember that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). As we navigate the challenges and joys of life, we can find comfort and strength in the eternal nature of our God.

Take a moment to reflect on the unchanging character of Yahweh. Consider His faithfulness throughout history and in your own life. Recall moments when He has revealed His presence and guidance. Allow the assurance of His eternal nature to fill your heart with peace and hope.

In your daily interactions, let the truth of Yahweh’s eternal existence shape your perspective. Share His unchanging love and faithfulness with those around you. Point others to the hope found in a God who has always been and will always be.

Remember that Yahweh’s eternal nature is a testament to His sovereignty, wisdom, and love. Entrust your past, present, and future into His capable hands. Seek His guidance in decision-making, find comfort in His presence, and trust in His plans for your life.

As you go through life, may you find confidence and joy in serving the eternal God, Yahweh. Rejoice in His unending love, draw near to Him in prayer, and live in the assurance that you are held in the embrace of the One who has always existed.

In Christ,

Let this be your prayer:

In light of Your eternal nature, I surrender my worries, fears, and uncertainties to You. I trust that You will guide me on the path of righteousness and lead me to the plans and purposes You have ordained for me. Help me to walk in obedience and surrender to Your will, knowing that You are the one true God who has always been and will always be.

Yahweh, I praise You for Your everlasting love and grace. Thank You for the salvation You have provided through Jesus Christ, who demonstrated Your love by laying down His life for me. I am grateful for the hope I have in You, for Your promises are sure and unwavering.

As I live each day, may Your eternal nature shape my thoughts, actions, and words. Help me to reflect Your love and faithfulness to those around me. May I be a vessel of Your light in a world that is ever-changing, pointing others to the hope found in You, the eternal God.

In the mighty and eternal name of Yahweh, I pray. Amen.
