1. Understanding the Promise of God’s Presence.

The Promised Presence in the Old Testament

God’s presence allows me to have a personal and intimate relationship with Him.

The Promised Presence in the New Testament

Application: We need to recognize and embrace the promise of God’s presence in our lives today. It is not limited to a specific time or place but is available to us through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

2. Experiencing God’s Presence in Worship.

Application: As we engage in heartfelt worship, acknowledging God’s greatness and surrendering our lives to Him, we create an atmosphere where God’s presence can manifest powerfully among us.

3. Experiencing God’s Presence in My Daily Life.

Reasons why we don’t experience God’s Presence in our lives

  1. Sin and disobedience:

Unconfessed sin and a lifestyle of disobedience can create a barrier between an individual and God’s presence. Sin separates us from God and hinders our ability to perceive and experience His presence.

  1. Lack of faith or doubt:

A lack of faith or persistent doubts can undermine one’s ability to recognize and experience God’s presence. Trusting in God and His promises is essential for experiencing His presence.

  1. Distractions and busyness:

Living in a fast-paced, hectic world can often distract us and keep us preoccupied, making it difficult to be attentive to God’s presence. Busyness and distractions can hinder our ability to seek God and cultivate a relationship with Him.

  1. Neglecting our Spiritual life:

Spiritual disciplines such as prayer, Bible reading, worship, and meditation help us connect with God and create an environment for experiencing His presence. Neglecting these practices can diminish our awareness of God’s presence in our lives.

  1. Spiritual dryness or seasons of testing:

There are times in our spiritual journey when we may go through periods of dryness or testing. These seasons can feel distant from God’s presence, but they can also be opportunities for growth, perseverance, and a deeper reliance on faith.

How?

Seek His presence through prayer. (communication)

Walk in Obedience to God’s Word. (Obedience)

Application: By cultivating a life of prayer and obedience to God’s Word, we position ourselves to experience the abiding presence of Jehovah Shammah in our daily lives.
